Turkey Mac & Cheese
lactose-free classic spin on the dish.
Ingredients
- 1 lb Ground turkey
- 1/2 large onion diced
- 2 medium green & red pepper diced
- 2 cups lactose free milk
- 1 cup water
- 2 cups aged cheddar cheese (aged over 6 months - removes the lactose)
- 2 cups elbow pasta
- 1 tablespoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon ground oregano
- 1 tablespoon dried parsley
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon chili powder
- .5 tablespoon paprika
Instructions
- brown turkey, toss in onions
- once cooked, add all ingredients besides cheese, bring to boil with medium high heat. I'm pretty liberal with the spices, sometimes a little more doesn't hurt.
- once boiling, turn heat to low and cover. Cook for about 10 minutes, until the pasta is soft, stirring occasionally.
- Once noodles are soft, remove from heat, stir in cheese. Serve warm.
